Fraterhuis

		The Favourite Intrigerend kostuumdrama waarin een gravin en een verarmde barones strijden om de gunst van koningin Anne. Winnaar van de Oscar voor Beste Actrice (Olivia Coleman). Engeland, begin achttiende eeuw. Centraal staat de relatie tussen koningin Anne en haar vertrouwelinge Sarah Churchill, de hertogin van Marlborough. Hun levens veranderen door de komst van Lady Sarahs jongere nicht Abigail. Zij is van adellijke afkomst, maar haar vader heeft het familiefortuin vergokt, waardoor Abigail genoodzaakt is om als dienstmeid aan de slag te gaan. Terwijl op de achtergrond de oorlog woedt tussen Engeland en Frankrijk, leveren Abigail en Lady Sarah een vileine strijd om de gunsten van de koningin. Die driehoek, die zowel een politieke als erotische dimensie bezit, vormt het hart van deze zwarte komedie. Regisseur Yorgos Lanthimos ('The Lobster, 'The Killing of a Sacred Deer') won voor de film in Cannes de Grote Juryprijs en Olivia Colman de prijs voor Beste Actrice.
