Wily DeVille begon zijn muziek carrière in het New York van de jaren ‘70 met zijn band Mink DeVille. Geboren als Billy Borsey in de fabrieksstad Stamford, Connecticut, smeedde hij voor zichzelf een totaal unieke identiteit. Zijn liefde voor muziek en films waren zijn inspiratie en zijn uitweg naar de grote stad. Zijn krachtige zangstem en steeds evoluerende podiumpersonages toverden avontuurlijke uitstapjes naar rhythm-and-blues-, cajun-, salsa-, mariachi- en tejanomuziek. Met zijn ‘Spanish-Americana’ was hij één van de meest originele en meest romantische figuren van het rocktijdperk. DeVille verkocht in zijn 35-jarige carrière een miljoen platen in Europa met hits als ‘Spanish Stroll’ en ‘Demasiado Corazon’.
