Fraterhuis

		Ennio Meeslepend eerbetoon aan Ennio Morricone, de legendarische componist van onvergetelijke filmscores als ‘The Good, the Bad and the Ugly’ en ‘Once Upon a Time in The West’. Zelf wilde hij liever dokter worden, maar de vader van de jonge Ennio Morricone (1928-2020) besloot dat hij naar het conservatorium moest om trompettist te worden. Als buitenstaander ging Morricone compositie studeren. Filmmuziek was nooit zijn einddoel; dat deed hij erbij om zijn abstracte muziekstukken te financieren. Hij schaamde zich zelfs lang dat hij muziek schreef voor films. Gaandeweg werd zijn talent door steeds meer regisseurs ontdekt, wat leidde tot onvergetelijke filmmuziek voor ‘The Good, the Bad and the Ugly’, ‘Novecento’, en ‘Cinema Paradiso’. ‘Ennio’ biedt een zeldzaam kijkje in het hoofd van dit muzikale genie – zo hield hij van schaken en componeerde hij altijd in stilte, met slechts potlood en papier. Een interview met de meester zelf is de waardevolle en ontroerende leidraad.
